Maths Funpack Activity A

Activity A1: Math Magician
The answer here is always 1:
  1. Choose a number from 1 to 10
  2. Double the number
  3. Add 2 to the result
  4. Divide that number by 2
  5. Subtract the original number from the answer in step 4
  6. The answer is always 1

How is this possible? (Hint: Algebra)

Let a represent a number from 1 to 10.

{[2(a)]+2} = (2a+2)

0.5(2a+2) - a = (a+1) - a =1

Activity A2: Number Magic Trick

The answer here is always 37:
  1. Choose any number 1 through 9 and multiply it by 3
  2. Repeat the original number three times, so it becomes a 3-digit number
  3. Divide the answer in step 2 by the answer in step 1
  4. Now, divide the answer by 15
  5. The answer is always 37
How is this possible? (Hint: Algebra)

Let a represent a number from 1 through 9.

"Repeat the original number three times, so it becomes a 3-digit number"
E.g. if the number 4 is chosen, it would be 444. FInd the relationship between 4 & 444.
111(4) = 444

So,
[(3a)/(111a)] /15 = 37
[0.02702702702702703..]/15 = 37

Chapter 4: Algebra Puzzle

Let a represent the star
Let b represent the umbrella
Let c represent the ice-cream

3a= 42
so, a=42/3= 14
a=14

a+2b=34=14+2b=34
34-14=2b=20
so, b= 20/2=10

2a+c=36
(14x2)+c=36=28+c=36
36-28=c=8
c=8

Ans: a=14
b=10
c=8

Let a represent the Flower
Let b represent the Apple
Let c represent the Pen
3a=69
a=69/3=23

3a+b=80=(3x23)+b=69+b
80-3a=80-69=b=11

2a+c=49=(2x23)+c=46+c
49-2a=49-46=c=3

Ans: a= 23
b=11
c= 03

Introduction To Keynote

hi these are the pictures...

Day 1 Mac Attack 1 - Activity 4: End-of-Day Reflection

At first insight, I was little worried about going to the new school. After sometime, I was at ease with my new environment, friends, teachers etc. My class atmosphere was terrific and my teacher was very friendly and comfortable to work with i.e., full of ambience. We did some ice breakers and soon we gelled well and made friends in no time. While we tapped away at our Macs our teachers and PSL’s were giving guidance and assisting the students who are having some problem with the Macs. We all had a wonderful time until our time off from school. I am looking forward to the next day to have a wonderful time again and in the coming years.

My Experience Creating This Blog

While creating this blog i was confused about what i am suppose to do exactly but soon i got the hang of it and hurried to finish it up so that i could play computer games . But, blogging is helping me knowing other pupils in the same class,cohort and school. And this is a new experience to me.

i chose this picture because i felt just like it when i saw the confirmation letter from SST .
